Love who you love
Guillermo Díaz

Born in New Jersey, Guillermo Díaz remains one of the busiest gay actors on the independent film circuit, having
shot to fame thanks to his memorable portrayal of La Miranda, the drag queen star of STONEWALL, namely Nigel Finch's
critically acclaimed celluloid swan song that in combining fantasy with reality marked a celebration of
the night when gay America came out of the closet to let its political voice be heard!

Yet ironically it was a role that put Díaz in the homosexual spotlight, at a time when he was not fully out himself.

But that was back in '95 and during the following years a sexually confident Díaz has gone on to play both straight
and gay roles with considerable ease, along the way mixing work on both the small and large screens.

Interestingly, the man himself remains somewhat shocked and surprised that so many people have seen the films he makes,
works that include the indie favourite PARTY GIRL / 1995 with Parker Posey, I'M NOT RAPPAPORT / 1996 with veteran
actor Walter Matthau and the 1999 feature 200 CIGARETTES starring alongside Courtney Love and Ben and Casey Affleck.

Fans of gay cinema will equally recall his performance as straight boy Eric in Brian Sloan's gay romantic comedy
I THINK I DO / 1997 and notably gay boy Victor in Lane Janger's comic exploration of the complexities
of human sexuality JUST ONE TIME / 1999.
