I am mystified by my heterosexual
affairs, but then I am mystified
by most of my relationships
Rupert Everett
B: 29 May 1959
Having achieved considerable theatrical acclaim for his portrayal of Guy Bennett in the West End production of ANOTHER COUNTRY, Everett's reprise of his role for the film adaptation saw Hollywood captivated by the man himself.

His star status however was confirmed when his increased involvement as 'the gay best friend' in Julia Roberts' 1997 romantic comedy MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING contributed to its worldwide success, one that endeared him to many a Hollywood director and accountant thereafter.

Openly bisexual with a strong liking for men, Everett remains remarkably honest about his sexuality, with his work an apt reflection of such, having played it straight in the Oliver Parker cinematic outings of the Oscar Wilde classics AN IDEAL HUSBAND / 1999 and THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST / 2002 and gay again opposite real-life friend Madonna in THE NEXT BEST THING / 2000.

He continues to combine film and television work alongside a series of voiceovers, most notably as the Fox in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE / 2005 and as Prince Charming in the worldwide hit SHREK features.

He also enjoys a highly successful writing career that includes his memoir RED CARPETS AND OTHER BANANA SKINS, in which he revealed he had a six year relationship with television personality Paula Yates.

Most recently he has been seen as Sherlock Holmes in the BBC production THE CASE OF THE SILK STOCKING / 2004, as Charles II in the film STAGE BEAUTY / 2004, as Bill Bule in the Julian Fellowes work SEPARATE LIES / 2005 and as Headmistress Camilla Fritton in the 2007 remake of ST TRINIAN'S.
