| dishing the 'sex text' dirt on adolescent sexual awakening |
 |
More concerned with his hair than helping his sister out in the local store, gay teen Israel is all too keen to meet up with his best friend Louie, forever
‘sexting’ each other so as to dish the dirt on whose not a virgin anymore. And one thing’s for certain, Louie isn’t, prone as he is
to boasting about his latest 'sexapades' as they walk around the East LA community of their birth.

Only when the opportunity arises for Israel to get intimate with Latino stud Ricky, is he prepared to finally raise to the occasion, or will his pledge
of only ‘doing it’ when the braces around his teeth come off, stay true?

Sweet on film, downright graphic on audio, this warm hearted take on the pains of adolescent sexual awakening is laced with the sex talk of those eager
to experience their first close encounter of the gay kind, only to be repulsed by the ‘don’t you get scared of catching anything’ tales
of those already in the know.

That the scenes never get any hotter than stripped-to-the-waist musician turned actor Octavio Altamirano aka Ricky delivering his own song, is not the point, given
it's the contrasting camaraderie between Jeff Martin as sex wise Louie and Matthew Monge as chaste Israel that charms. Sure the scenario itself is far from
anything new, added to which it is basic photography at best here. And yet this short from writer and director Brian Krinsky perfectly captures the
mindset of the youth of today and their seeming obsession with texting, sex and well put it this way - just don’t touch their hair! Delightful.
